A ‘Conversations’ Series: Philosophy is Inquiry

An open invitation to anyone aged 18-30.

‘Conversations’ aims to create a space where ideas can be shared in a safe and encouraging environment.

Melbourne School of Philosophy is delighted to offer an interactive series of three talks that have been designed for 18-30 year olds wondering about life’s bigger questions, or may be interested in Philosophy itself, but have little or no experience with the subject.

The course is intended to give a simple ‘snapshot’ of how philosophy may be practical in everyday life.

Somewhere to bring questions and concepts to discuss with others face to face. As well as discussing topics of immediate relevance to ourselves and those around us, we will practice the art of dialectic conversation.

Session 1: We ask what and where is heart? Is it just a physical thing? If not, what is it? We are introduced to the Sanatana Dharma or natural laws.

Session 2: Looks at the importance of conversation to Philosophic Inquiry – what is True? And what effect does discussing Truth have on our lives in Melbourne 2026?

Session 3: We let the questions do the work. What is the nature of reflection? We study the story of Narcissus and ask what happens when the question is fully answered?

The variety was excellent and the presentations were delivered with so much interest and love…
